PROGRESS RATING SCALE (PRS)

Think of how you have been doing on each of the areas in your life and mouse click on each line where low estimates of each dimension are represented to the left and high to the right.

Start with the Individual domain and think about how you are doing personally. This line would be the place to indicate struggles with depression, anxiety, weight loss, sleeplessness, or any distress that you alone experience and would like to change. This line also allows you to recognize that you are doing just fine on the personal side of things.

Next, consider how you are doing in the Interpersonal realm of your life. How do you feel about your closest relationships? Are they going well or is this the area that most reflects your distress about your life and where you want to focus your change efforts? If your relationships are great with your children, but not so good with your spouse, make your mark to reflect your distress about your marriage. If all is fine in the family department, then indicate as such with your mark on the line and move on to the Social aspects of your life.

Here is where you think about how you are doing in areas outside of your closest relationships. How are you doing in school or work (including work inside the home), and how are your friendships beyond the family? Are you satisfied with the roles that you have chosen for your life? If you are not pleased with your occupation or role in life, or feel as if you are isolated without friends, this would be the line to indicate such experiences; and this is also the place to show that these broader social parts of your life are going well.

Finally, the Overall domain asks you to take a big picture look at your life and mark where you see yourself in general. Step back and take a look your life and indicate on this line your appraisal of your life in total.

INDIVIDUALLY - Your personal well being

INTERPERSONALLY - Your family and close relationships

SOCIALLY - Work, school, and friendships

OVERALL - Your general sense of well being
